The Lübeck City Mothers project
In the "Lübecker Stadtmütter" (Lübeck Urban Mothers) project, women with and without a migration background, with and without children of all ages, receive further training on social and societal issues. This knowledge enables them to conduct informational and educational work within their environment and neighborhoods.
After a training phase in which future city mothers are taught in various subject areas, such as the German education system, disability and inclusion, as well as competent media handling and much more, they proactively seek out families with support needs in their neighborhood/surroundings. They impart their experience and knowledge here, allowing acquaintances, relatives, and friends to be approached directly. Parent-teacher evenings in daycare centers and schools are also used to publicize the city mothers' services and offer further information events. The aim is to strengthen families' parenting skills in the spirit of educational and upbringing partnerships and to achieve increasing and sustainable participation of children in educational offerings in the city.
The Lübeck Urban Mothers Concept aims to improve social participation in the city of Lübeck through self-determination and responsible involvement.
I am looking for help in my native language.
The Lübeck City Mothers are volunteer women from different nations who are happy to assist as guides in Lübeck.
